The 2015 PPG Syracuse Nationalsis proud to have:
If you’re into motor sports, you’ve probably heard his name; if you’re not, you’ve probably seen his work. Kenny Youngblood is not only the most prolific artist in the field, but also it’s most significant pioneer.
Kenny’s amazing career grew out of his own need for speed; “I’m a racer at heart” says Youngblood, who, in the mid 60’s, built and drove two “slingshot” dragsters of his own. After hand painting the graphics on a friend’s dragster, he was hired as a race car sign painter and thus began the first phase of his career.
The second phase of Kenny’s career moved him from the paint shop to the drawing board, as the demand for his artistic paint schemes increased. “Pretty soon, we were doing designs and proposal renderings for all kinds of racing vehicles and shipping them all over the country”; Kenny’s client list was a virtual “Who’s Who” of racing.
"I joined the staff of Hot Rod magazine in 1997 as Technical Editor into 2004. Also during that time, I was part of the cast of Hot Rod Magazine TV on Speed Channel. I did about 60 episodes of Hot Rod Magazine TV. I hosted two seasons of Classic Car Restoration on the DIY Channel. My greatest exposure came 10 years ago when I was asked to join the Barrett-Jackson on-air vehicle discussion team. Now I get stopped in air ports, super markets and places like the SEMA show by folks who want to talk cars. I love this since it is like having "instant friends" no matter where I go."
